About Us
The neighbors in Signal Hill and the surrounding areas have formed the Signal Hill Area Alliance in order to:
- promote a sense of community
- defend our environment, peaceful community, and our rural character
- work with businesses in the neighborhood to address runoff, noise, and road safety
- advocate for responsible use of the watershed and aquifers
- ensure our voice in the civic processes that protects these things
Signal Hill Area Alliance is private, non-partisan, non-profit alliance of neighbors created to safeguard the quality of life of residents in this area and to promote mutual interests and address concerns related to the impact that development has upon our area.

Current and On-Going Activities
The Alliance has several on-going activities:
- working with the county to address the degradation of Signal Hill Road. This work continues as the area grows with the event center and other developments in the neighborhood.
- gathering and disseminating information on current and proposed commercial sites in our residential neighborhood
- hiring a professional engineer to review proposed commercial site plans in the neighborhood for compliance to city, county, and environmental regulations
- hiring an attorney to advise us on legal rights and issues
- planning neighborhood gatherings and social activities
- working with our state representative Erin Zwiener and county commissioner Walt Smith to leverage their help and expertise on our neighborhood issues.
And maybe most importantly:
- listening to and acting on the concerns of our neighbors!
Join Us!
Good neighbors make good neighborhoods. This is your home, this is where you have invested your hard-earned money and spend your family time. Your vested interest helps the group become stronger.
A neighborhood association is a direct line to your city council members and other elected officials. Collaborating on issues or events can make the process more effective.
Get to know your neighbors. People from different backgrounds with a wide range of experience brings so much to the table and who knows when you may be able to help each other.
Feel more connected to where you live. The more input and backing that the alliance has, the more impact our opinions and requests will have on the appropriate agencies.
